     Herman Harford Erskine was born on 21 September 1871.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine and Emma Florence Mary Harford.1 He married Adela Eva Nevins, daughter of Richard Fielding Nevins, on 3 May 1899.1 He died on 2 December 1939 at age 68.1
     Herman Harford Erskine was in the South African Civil Service.1

     Robert Henry Erskine was born on 31 December 1874.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine and Emma Florence Mary Harford.1 He married Clara Gudrun Howden-Runnenkamp, daughter of Christian Howden-Runnenkamp, in 1914.1 He died on 12 October 1933 at age 58.1
     Robert Henry Erskine held the office of Consul-General to Zurich between 1930 and 1933.1
