     Margaret Sophia Swinton was the daughter of Archibald Henry Swinton.1 She married John Buchan Buchan-Hepburn, son of Sir John Buchan-Hepburn of Smeaton Hepburn, 2nd Bt. and Mary Turner Hog, on 31 May 1837.1 She died on 13 February 1873.1
     From 31 May 1837, her married name became Buchan-Hepburn.1

     Captain John Buchan-Hepburn was born on 30 April 1840.1 He was the son of John Buchan Buchan-Hepburn and Margaret Sophia Swinton.1 He married Mary Caroline Margaret Fischer, daughter of General John Fischer, in 1888.1 He died on 18 July 1898 at age 58, leaving:.1

     John Trant Buchan-Hepburn was born in 1890.1 He was the son of Captain John Buchan-Hepburn and Mary Caroline Margaret Fischer.1 He married Edith Margaret Mitchell Robb, daughter of William Robb, on 7 September 1927.1 He died on 20 April 1953.1
     He fought in the First World War, with the Ceylon Planter's Rifle Corps and Australian Artillery.1 A rubber planter.1
