     Andrew Buchanan of Ardenconnel was born on 12 July 1745.1 He was the son of Archibald Buchanan and Martha Murdoch.1 He married Jane Dennistoun, daughter of James Dennistoun, on 3 July 1769.1 He died on 14 July 1833 at age 88.1
     Andrew Buchanan of Ardenconnel was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms as of Ardenconnel, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office of Ardenconnel in 1791.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Ardenconnel, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.1 He lived at Auchingray, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1
