     Alva Grace Woodman Burbidge was born on 28 January 1913.1 She was the daughter of Sir Richard Woodman Burbidge, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Jemina Grant.2 She married Gerald Rudall Holman, son of Dr. F. Kay Holman, on 1 October 1935.1 She died on 28 August 1998 at age 85.1
     Alva Grace Woodman Burbidge was educated at Roedean School, Rottingdean, Brighton, Sussex, England.1 From 1 October 1935, her married name became Holman.1
