     Captain Peter Colpoys Paley Johnson was born on 26 March 1930.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Sir John Paley Johnson, 6th Bt. and Carol Louise Glorney Haas.1 He married, firstly, Clare Bruce, daughter of Nigel Patrick Bruce and Audrey Patricia Villiers Clarendon, on 7 August 1956.2 He and Clare Bruce were divorced in 1972.2 He married, secondly, Caroline Elisabeth Hodsoll, daughter of W/Cdr. Sir Eric John Hodsoll, in 1973.1
     Captain Peter Colpoys Paley Johnson gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 From 7 August 1956, his married name became Bruce.
