     He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, England.¹ He succeeded to the title of 11th Baronet Burdett, of Birthwaite, co. York [E., 1665] on 23 August 1943.² He graduated from Imperial College, London, England, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Eng).¹ He did his National Service as a Temporay Sub Lieutenant (E) in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He was managing director of Rapaway Energy Ltd.¹ He lived in 2003 at 2 Knapp Cottages, Gore Lane, Kilmington, Axminster, Devon, England.¹

     Dr. James Mackay Rutherford lived at Knowl Hill, Woking, Surrey, England.¹

     June Elizabeth Campbell Rutherford is the daughter of Dr. James Mackay Rutherford.¹ She married Sir Savile Aylmer Burdett, 11th Bt., son of Sir Henry Aylmer Burdett, 10th Bt. and Audrey Grace Chichester Cutliffe, on 21 July 1962.¹

     Crispin Peter Burdett was born on 8 February 1967.¹ He is the son of Sir Savile Aylmer Burdett, 11th Bt. and June Elizabeth Campbell Rutherford.¹ He married Julia Winifred Gresham Copeland, daughter of John Gresham Copeland, on 6 August 1988.¹
