     Sam Ward, Jr. was the son of Sam Ward.1 He married, firstly, Emily Astor, daughter of William Backhouse Astor and Margaret Rebecca Armstrong, in 1838.1 He married, secondly, Marie Angeline Grymes after 1841.1 He died in 1884.1
     He had two sons by his second wife.1
