     Henry Vivian Brandon, Baron Brandon of Oakbrook was born on 3 June 1920.1 He was the son of Captain Vivian Roland Brandon and Joan Elizabeth Maud Simpson.2 He married Jeanette Rosemary Janvrin, daughter of Julian Vivian Breeze Janvrin, in 1955.2 He died on 24 March 1999 at age 78 at Stratton, Cornwall, EnglandG.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War, with the Royal Artillery, in Madagascar, India and Burma.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1944 in the Royal Artillery.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1946 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1961.2 He was appointed Knight in 1966.2 He held the office of High Court Judge of the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Divisions between 1966 and 1971.2 He held the office of Judge of the Family Division and Admiralty Court between 1971 and 1978.2 He held the office of Judge of the Commercial Court between 1977 and 1978.2 He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal between 1978 and 1981.2 He was created Baron Brandon of Oakbrook, of Hammersmith in Greater London [U.K. Law Lord] on 24 September 1981.1 He held the office of Lord of Appeal in Ordinary between 24 September 1981 and 1991.2
