Edward Burnell, 1st and last Lord Burnell was born circa 1282.1 He was the son of Sir Philip Burnell and Maud FitzAlan.1 He married Aline le Despenser, daughter of Hugh le Despenser, 1st and last Earl of Winchester and Isabella de Beauchamp, after 3 May 1302.1 He died in 1315.1
On 6 December 1307 he had seisin of his lands.1 He was created 1st Lord Burnell [England by writ] on 19 December 1311.1
