     Melville Portal was born on 31 July 1818. He was the son of John Portal and Elizabeth Drummond. He married Lady Charlotte Mary Elliot, daughter of Gilbert Elliot, 2nd Earl of Minto and Mary Brydone, on 9 October 1855. He died on 24 January 1904 at age 85.

     Major Sir Evelyn Delves Broughton, 12th Bt. was born on 2 October 1915.1 He was the son of Major Sir Henry John Delves Broughton, 11th Bt. and Vera Edyth Griffith-Boscawen.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Elizabeth Florence Marion Cholmondeley, daughter of Thomas Pitt Hamilton Cholmondeley, 4th Baron Delamere of Vale Royal and Phyllis Anne Montagu Douglas Scott, on 28 January 1947.1 He and Hon. Elizabeth Florence Marion Cholmondeley were divorced in 1953.1 He married, secondly, Helen Mary Shore, daughter of John Shore, on 3 March 1955.1 He and Helen Mary Shore were divorced in 1974.1 He married, thirdly, Rona Zara Clifford-Johns, daughter of Ernest Clifford-Johns, on 14 May 1974.1 He died on 5 January 1993 at age 77.1,2
