Philip William Casimir van Straubenzee was born on 20 April 1723 at Tournai, Belgium.1 He was the son of Abraham Johannes van Straubenzee and Johanna Hendrina Schoncken.1 He married Jane Turner, daughter of Cholmley Turner and Jane Marwood, in 1745 in a eloped marriage.1 He died in 1765.1
He was naturalized as a British citizen, by Act of Parliament in 1759.1

Colonel John Younger was born on 7 June 1840.1 He was the son of William Younger of Craigielands and Isabella Johnston.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Isabella Shakespear, daughter of Maj.-Gen. George Bucknal Shakespear, on 3 January 1878.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Grace Campbell Brown, daughter of Archibald Brown, on 30 April 1906.1 He died on 1 September 1925 at age 85.1
He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries-shire.1 He lived at Langshaw Bush, Moffat, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1
