     Peter Stapleton Buxton was born on 14 October 1904.1 He was the son of Geoffrey Charles Buxton and Clare Florence Mary Stapleton.2 He married Julia Victoria Pease, daughter of Claud Edward Pease, on 15 September 1934.1 He died in July 1944 at age 39, killed in action.1
     Peter Stapleton Buxton fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Leicestershire Yeomanry (Territorial Army).1
