     Alfred Barclay Buxton was born on 3 November 1891.1 He was the son of Reverend Barclay Fowell Buxton and Margaret Maria Amelia Railton.2 He married Edith Mary Crossley Studd, daughter of Charles Thomas Studd and Priscilla Livingstone Stewart, on 27 December 1916.1 He died on 14 October 1940 at age 48, as a result of enemy action.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a missionary to Africa.1
