     John de Bourbel Stansfeld of Dunninald was the son of Lt.-Col. John Raymond Evelyn Stansfeld and Constance Yolande de Bourbel de Montpincon.2,3 He married Mary Marow Eardley-Wilmot, daughter of Edward Gwynne Eardley-Wilmot and Jane Millicent Scott, on 24 October 1933.2 He died in 1957.2

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1954 and 1958 in the Gordon Highlanders.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was a director of Joseph Johnston & Sons between 1962 and 2001.2 He was chairman of the Esk District Salmon Fishery between 1967 and 1985.2 He was editor of Salmon Net Magazine between 1978 and 1985.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Angus in 1984.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Angus in 1988.2 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Fisheries Management (F.I.F.M.) in 1996.2 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 2000.2 He lived in 2003 at Dunninald, Montrose, Angus, ScotlandG.2
