     Lieutenant Mervyn Buxton was born on 5 May 1903.1 He was the son of Edward Gurney Buxton and Laura Gurney.2 He married Carmela Mary Beatrice Lyon, daughter of George Herbert Lyon, on 25 October 1932.1 He died on 12 May 1944 at age 41, while on active service.3
     Lieutenant Mervyn Buxton fought in the Second World War.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Army Pay Corps.1
