     Hon. John Sinclair, Lord Murkle was born after 1685. He was the son of John Sinclair, 8th Earl of Caithness and Jean Carmichael.2 He married Lady Anne Mackenzie, daughter of George Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Earl of Cromarty and Anne Sinclair.1 He died on 5 June 1755, without issue.1
     He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland].1 He was styled as Lord Murkle [Scottish Law Lord].1
