     Sir William Johnson, 1st Bt. was born in 1715.2 He was the son of Christopher Johnson and Anne Warren.2 He married Mary de Wissenbergh, daughter of John de Wissenbergh, in 1739.2 He died on 11 July 1774.2
     He and Vice-Admiral Sir Peter Warren were adopted.2 In 1738 he went to manage the estate of his maternal uncle, Vice-Admiral Sir Peter Warren, on the Mohawk River, North America.2 He was Cooenl-in-Chief of the Six Nations in 1744.2 He was Colonel of the Militia Forces and Iroquois. He was sole superintendent of the affairs of the Six Nations in 1755.2 He fought in the Battle of Lake George in 1755, where he defeated the French.2 He was created 1st Baronet Johnson, of New York, in North America [Great britain] on 27 November 1755.2 He gained the rank of Major-General on 27 November 1755.2 He fought in the Capture of Fort Niagara in 1759.

     Mary Johnstone was the daughter of Colonel Guy Johnstone and Mary Johnson.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Colin Campbell, son of John Campbell.1 She died in 1832.1
      Her married name became Campbell.

     Elizabeth Daniel is the daughter of William Daniel and Mary Maddocks.1 She married Philip Stanhope, son of Philip Stanhope and Eugenia Peters, on 28 May 1790 at St. Michael's Church, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.1
      From 28 May 1790, her married name became Stanhope.1
