Sir David Lindsay, 1st Lord Lindsay of Balcarres was baptised on 17 March 1587 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of John Lindsay of Balcarres, Lord Menmuir and Marion Guthrie.1,2 He married Lady Sophia Seton, daughter of Alexander Seton, 1st Earl of Dunfermline and Lilias Drummond, on 16 February 1611/12 at Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.2 He died in March 1641/42.2,3 He was buried at Chapel, Balcarres, Fife, Scotland.2
