David Ruthven, 2nd Lord Ruthven of Freeland1

     David Ruthven, 2nd Lord Ruthven of Freeland was the son of Thomas Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven of Freeland and Isabel Balfour.2 He died in April 1701, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Ruthven of Freeland [S., 1651] on 6 May 1671.1 On 26 October 1674 he entailed his estates, failing his own issue, on his sisters and their issue, with precedence to the youngest.1 He held the office of Lord of the Privy Counsel in 1689.1

     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Cunninghame.1

Sir William Ruthven of Cunninghamehead, 4th Bt.1

     Sir William Ruthven of Cunninghamehead, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir William Cunninghame of Cunninghamehead, 3rd Bt. and Anne Ruthven.2 He married Anne Stewart, daughter of Sir Archibald Stewart of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. and Mary Carmichael.1 He died in October 1722, without issue.1
     He was given the name of William Cunninghame at birth.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Cunninghame.1 After April 1722 his name was legally changed to William Ruthven.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became dormant.1

     Sir Archibald Stewart of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. was the son of Archibald Stewart, younger of Castlemilk and Lady Mary Fleming.2 A contract for the marriage of Sir Archibald Stewart of Castlemilk, 1st Bt. and Mary Carmichael was signed on 2 September 1665.3 He died in 1681.2
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Stewart.

     From August 1661, her married name became Cunninghame.1 From 22 April 1673, her married name became Cunningham.1
