     Hon. James Louis Lindsay was born on 16 December 1906.2 He was the son of Sir David Alexander Edward Lindsay, 27th Earl of Crawford and Constance Lilian Pelly.2 He married Hon. Bronwen Mary Scott-Ellis, daughter of Thomas Evelyn Scott-Ellis, 8th Baron Howard de Walden and Margherita van Raalte, on 26 April 1933.2 He died on 27 August 1997 at age 90.2
     Hon. James Louis Lindsay was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the King's Royal Rifle Corps.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Devon between 1955 and 1959.2
