     Emma Jan Smyth was the daughter of Reverend William Smyth.2 She married Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen Cave, son of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock, in 1852.1 She died on 13 November 1905.1
     From 1852, her married name became Cave.

     Sir Charles Daniel Cave, 1st Bt. was born on 17 September 1832.1 He was the son of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock.2 He married Edith Harriet Symonds, daughter of John Addington Symonds and Harriet Sykes, on 1 September 1859.1 He died on 29 October 1922 at age 90.1
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Bristol in 1863.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire.1 He was a director of the Union of London and Smith's Bank Ltd.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cave, of Sidbury Manor, Devon [U.K.] on 21 July 1896.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1898.1

     John Addington Symonds was born on 10 April 1807 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was the son of John Symonds.2 He married Harriet Sykes, daughter of James Sykes, in 1834.2 He died on 25 February 1871 at age 63.2
     He lived at Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He wrote the book Address on Knowledge, published 1846.2 He wrote the book Sleep and Dreams, published 1851.2 He wrote the book The Principles of Beauty, published 1857.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.) in 1857.2
