     John Skeffington was born in 1534.2 He was the son of William Skeffington and Isa Leveson.2 He married Alice Cave, daughter of Sir Thomas Cave and Elizabeth Danvers, before 1563.1,2 He died on 7 November 1604 at Fisherwick, Staffordshire, England.2 He was buried on 8 November 1604 at St. Michael's, Lichfield, Staffordshire, England.2
     He was educated in 1552 at Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1556.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1559.2
