     Arthur Chichester, 1st Earl of Donegall was born on 16 June 1606.² He was the son of Edward Chichester, 1st Viscount Chichester of Carrickfergus and Anne Coplestone.¹ He married, firstly, Dorcas Hill, daughter of John Hill.² He married, secondly, Lady Mary Digby, daughter of John Digby, 1st Earl of Bristol and Beatrice Walcott.² He married, thirdly, Letitia Hicks, daughter of Sir William Hicks, 1st Bt., on 13 August 1651.² He died on 18 March 1674/75 at age 68.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Antrim in 1639.² He held the office of Governor of Carrickfergus.² He was created 1st Earl of Donegall [Ireland] on 30 March 1647, with a special remainder to his father's male descendants.¹ He succeeded to the title of 2nd Viscount Chichester of Carrickfergus, co. Antrim [I., 1625] on 8 July 1648.¹ He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Chichester of Belfast, co. Antrim [I., 1625] on 8 July 1648.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
     

     Sir Hugh Cholmondeley was the son of Richard Cholmondely and Elizabeth (?).^2,3 He married Anne Dorman, daughter of George Dorman.¹ He died in 1577/78.¹

     Hon. Catherine Stanhope was the daughter of John Stanhope, 1st Lord Stanhope of Harrington and Margaret MacWilliams.¹ She married Robert Cholmondeley, 1st and last Earl of Leinster, son of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Holford.¹ She died on 15 June 1657 at Cholmondeley, Cheshire, England.¹ She was buried on 3 July 1657 at Malpas, Cheshire, England.¹
      Her married name became Cholmondeley.¹ As a result of her marriage, Hon. Catherine Stanhope was styled as Countess of Leinster on 5 March 1645/46.

     Hugh Cholmondeley was the son of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Holford.¹ He married Mary Bodvile, daughter of Sir John Bodvile.¹ He died on 11 September 1655.¹

     Mary Bodvile is the daughter of Sir John Bodvile.¹ She married Hugh Cholmondeley, son of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Holford.¹
      Her married name became Cholmondeley.¹

     Sir John Bodvile lived at Bodvile Castle, Caernarvonshire, Wales.¹

     Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells was the son of Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Bodvile.¹ He married Elizabeth Cradock, daughter of George Cradock and Dorothy Saunders.¹ He died on 22 May 1681 at St. James's, London, England.¹ His will was probated in November 1681.¹ He was buried on 3 June 1681 at Malpas, Cheshire, England.¹
     He was created 1st Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells, co. Meath [Ireland] on 29 March 1661.¹

     Elizabeth Cradock was the daughter of George Cradock and Dorothy Saunders.¹ She married Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells, son of Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Bodvile.¹ She died circa February 1691/92.¹ She was buried on 28 February 1691/92 at Malpas, Cheshire, England.¹
     As a result of her marriage, Elizabeth Cradock was styled as Viscountess Cholmondeley of Kells. Her married name became Cholmondeley.¹
