Robert Preston, 1st Viscount Gormanston1

     Robert Preston, 1st Viscount Gormanston was the son of Christopher Preston, 3rd Lord Preston of Gormanston and Jane d'Artois.1 He married Janet Molyneux, daughter of Sir Richard Molyneux and Joan Haydock.1 He died on 9 April 1503.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Preston of Gormanston [I., 1370].2 He held the office of Deputy Chancellor [Ireland] in 1461.2 He was appointed Knight of St. George in 1472.2 He held the office of Deputy Chief Governor of Ireland in 1478.2 He was created 1st Viscount Gormanston [Ireland] on 7 August 1478.2 He held the office of Deputy Chief Governor of Ireland in 1493.2

     Janet Molyneux is the daughter of Sir Richard Molyneux and Joan Haydock.1 She married Robert Preston, 1st Viscount Gormanston, son of Christopher Preston, 3rd Lord Preston of Gormanston and Jane d'Artois.1
     Her married name became Preston.1

Sir Richard Molyneux1

     Sir Richard Molyneux is the son of Sir Richard Molyneux and Ellen Ursewick.2 He married, firstly, Joan Haydock, daughter of Sir Gilbert Haydock.3 He married, secondly, Helen Radcliff.2
     He also had six other sons and another daughter by his first wife, and two other daughters by his second wife.2 He lived at Sefton, Lancashire, EnglandG.4 He fought in the Battle of Agincourt on 24 October 1415.2 He held the office of Constable of Liverpool.2 He held the office of Chief Forestership of the Royal Forest and Parks in teh wapentake of West Derbyshire on 26 July 1446.2

     Joan Haydock is the daughter of Sir Gilbert Haydock.1 She married, secondly, Sir Richard Molyneux, son of Sir Richard Molyneux and Ellen Ursewick.2 She married, firstly, Sir Piers Legh, son of Sir Piers Leigh and Margaret d'Anyers, in 1403.2 She died in 1439.2
     She was also known as Jane Haydock.2 From 1403, her married name became Legh.2 From 1423, her married name became Molyneux.2
