     Sir Rupert William John Clarke, 3rd Bt. was born on 5 November 1919.¹ He was the son of Sir Rupert Turner Havelock Clarke, 2nd Bt. and Elsie Florence Tucker.² He married, firstly, Kathleen Grant Hay, daughter of Peter Grant Hay, on 21 January 1947.¹ He married, secondly, Gillian Anne Grant, daughter of Major John Maclean Grant, on 2 May 2000.¹ He died on 4 February 2005 at age 85 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.³
     Sir Rupert William John Clarke, 3rd Bt. succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Clarke, of Rupertswood, Bourke County, Victoria, Australia [U.K., 1882] on 25 December 1926.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in 1942 in the service of the Irish Guards.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to Commander-in-Chief, Middle East between 1942 and 1943.¹ He was Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.¹ He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1945 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He was chairman of Cadbury Schweppes (Australia) Ltd between 1955 and 1989.¹ He was chairman of United Distillers Company between 1960 and 1988.¹ He was chairman of Cadbury Schweppes between 1977 and 1985.¹ He was decorated with the Officer, Legion of Honour in 1979.¹ He was chairman of P & O Australia Ltd between 1983 and 1996.¹ He was chairman of First National Ltd between 1986 and 1992.¹ He was chairman of the Bank of the South Pacific between 1986 and 1992.¹ He was chairman of National Australia Bank between 1986 and 1992.¹ He was decorated with the Officer, Order of Leopold of Belgium in 1989.¹ He was invested as a Fellow, Australian Institute of Management (F.A.I.M.).¹ He was decorated with the Member, Order of Australia (A.M.) in 1999.¹ He was decorated with the Commandeur, Order of Grimaldi of Monaco in 1999.¹ He lived in 2003 at Bolinda Vale, Clarkefield, Victoria, Australia.¹

     Sir Rupert Grant Alexander Clarke, 4th Bt. graduated from Melbourne University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.).¹ He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Clarke, of Rupertswood, Bourke County, Victoria, Australia [U.K., 1882] on 4 February 2005.³
