     Lt.-Col. Reginald Hastings Clarke was born on 26 October 1880.1 He was the son of Sir William John Clarke, 1st Bt. and Janet Marian Snodgrass.2 He married Ernestine Maud Govett, daughter of Edmund Govett, in 1904.1 He died on 17 December 1914 at age 34.1
     Lt.-Col. Reginald Hastings Clarke gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 15th Hussars.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Commonwealth Forces of Australia.1
