     Sir Walter Lovelace Clifford, 4th Bt. was born on 20 May 1853.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Clifford, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Hercy.2 He married Catherine Bath, daughter of Edward Bath, on 14 November 1883.1 He died on 26 May 1944 at age 91, without male issue.1
     Sir Walter Lovelace Clifford, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Clifford, of Flaxbourne, in the province of Marlborough, in the colony of New Zealand [U.K., 1887] on 13 September 1938.1
