     Captain David Brodie was born in 1707.1 He was the son of Joseph Brodie of Muiresk and Margaret Hume.1 He married, firstly, unknown wife (?).1 He married, secondly, Mary Aston, daughter of Sir Thomas Aston, 3rd Bt. and Catharine Widdrington, in 1753.1 He died in 1787.1
     Captain David Brodie gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1
