     James Brodie of Muiresk was born in 1695.1 He was the son of Joseph Brodie of Muiresk and Vere Brodie.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of unknown Gordon of Aberlour, in 1719.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Robertson, daughter of James Robertson, in 1768.1 He died in 1777.1
     In 1767 he sold the estate of Muiresk.1
