Hon. Ernest Victor Gibson was born on 3 January 1875.1 He was the son of Edward Gibson, 1st Baron Ashbourne and Frances Maria Adelaide Colles.1 He married, firstly, Mary Wood Salisbury Wood, daughter of Joseph L. R. Wood, on 28 April 1905.1 He married, secondly, Caroline de Billier, daughter of Frederic de Billier, on 8 December 1909.1 He died on 14 January 1922 at age 47.1
Hon. Ernest Victor Gibson usually went by his middle name of Victor.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Commander in the service of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1 He gained the rank of honorary Lieutenant in the service of the British Army.1 He was admitted to King's Inns, Dublin entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902.1
