     Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale was born in 1836.1 He was the son of Edward Partington.1 He married Sarah Alcock Howorth, daughter of Thomas Howorth, on 18 April 1860.1 He died on 5 January 1925.1
     Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale held the office of Mayor of Glossop.1 He held the office of Member of the Derbyshire County Council.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire.1 He was decorated with the award of Officer's Cross, Order of Franz Josef of Austria.1 He was founder of Kellner-Partington Pulp Company in 1889.1 He was invested as a Knight Bachelor in 1912.1 He was created 1st Baron Doverdale, of Westwood Park, co. Worcester [U.K.] on 6 January 1917.1

     Sarah Alcock Howorth was the daughter of Thomas Howorth.1 She married Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale, son of Edward Partington, on 18 April 1860.1 She died on 17 February 1917.1
     From 18 April 1860, her married name became Partington.1 As a result of her marriage, Sarah Alcock Howorth was styled as Baroness Doverdale on 6 January 1917.

     Herbert Partington was born on 4 September 1868.1 He was the son of Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale and Sarah Alcock Howorth.1 He married Mary Alice Harrison, daughter of Abel Harrison, on 23 November 1894.1 He died on 6 May 1916 at age 47, without male issue.1
     Herbert Partington was educated at Rossall School, Fleetwood, Lancashire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Mayor of Glossop in 1916.1
