     Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale was born on 28 September 1836 at Heap Bridge, Lancashire, England.1,2 He was the son of Sarah Partington.2 He married Sarah Haworth, daughter of Thomas Haworth, on 18 April 1860.1 He died on 5 January 1925 at age 88.1
     He held the office of Mayor of Glossop.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He was awarded the Officer's Cross, Order of Franz Josef of Austria.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Member of the Derbyshire County Council.1 He was founder of Kellner-Partington Pulp Company in 1889.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1912.1 He was created 1st Baron Doverdale, of Westwood Park, co. Worcester [U.K.] on 6 January 1917.1
