     Edward Partington, 1st Baron Doverdale was born in 1836.1 He was the son of Edward Partington.1 He married Sarah Alcock Howorth, daughter of Thomas Howorth, on 18 April 1860.1 He died on 5 January 1925.1
     He held the office of Mayor of Glossop.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He was decorated with the award of the Officer's Cross, Order of Franz Josef of Austria.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Member of the Derbyshire County Council.1 He was founder of Kellner-Partington Pulp Company in 1889.1 He was invested as a Knight Bachelor in 1912.1 He was created 1st Baron Doverdale, of Westwood Park, co. Worcester [U.K.] on 6 January 1917.1

     He was educated at Rossall School, Fleetwood, Lancashire, England.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Mayor of Glossop in 1916.1
