     Sarah Louisa Mary Maitland is the daughter of Commander Sir John Francis Whitaker Maitland and Bridget Denny.1,2 She married John Bruce-Gardyne, Baron Bruce-Gardyne, son of Captain Evan Bruce-Gardyne, 13th of Middleton and Joan McLaren, on 24 January 1959.1
     From 24 January 1959, her married name became Bruce-Gardyne.1 After her marriage, Sarah Louisa Mary Maitland was styled as Lady Bruce-Gardyne on 7 October 1983.

     Laurence John Cadbury was born on 30 March 1889.1 He was the son of George Cadbury and Elizabeth Mary Taylor.2 He married Joyce Mathews, daughter of Lewis O. Mathews, on 10 November 1925.1
     He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, with the Friend's Ambulance Unit.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1
