     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He lived at Haworth House, Kintbury, Berkshire, EnglandG.4

     Robert John Elkington was born on 7 October 1949.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. John David Rew Elkington and Rosemary Frances Glyn.1 He married Mary Patricia Ashley-Cooper, daughter of Major Hon. Anthony John Percy Hugh Michael Ashley-Cooper and Julian Petherick, in 1984.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England. He was educated at Exeter University, Exeter, Devon, England.1

Admiral Arthur William Acland Hood, 1st and last Baron Hood of Avalon1

     Admiral Arthur William Acland Hood, 1st and last Baron Hood of Avalon was born on 14 July 1824.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Hood, 2nd Bt. and Amelia Anne Bateman.1,2 He married Fanny Henrietta Maclean, daughter of Sir Charles Fitzroy Maclean, 9th Bt. and Emily Eleanor Marsham, on 2 October 1855.1 He died on 15 November 1901 at age 77, without male issue.1
     He fought in the Siege of Sebastopol.1 He was Director-General of Naval Ordnance between 1869 and 1874.1 He gained the rank of Admiral in the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Second Lord of the Admiralty between 1877 and 1880.1 He held the office of First Lord of the Admiralty between 1885 and 1889.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1889.1 He was created 1st Baron Hood of Avalon, co. Somerset [U.K.] on 22 February 1892.1

     Fanny Henrietta Maclean was the daughter of Sir Charles Fitzroy Maclean, 9th Bt. and Emily Eleanor Marsham.1,2 She married Admiral Arthur William Acland Hood, 1st and last Baron Hood of Avalon, son of Sir Alexander Hood, 2nd Bt. and Amelia Anne Bateman, on 2 October 1855.1 She died on 29 August 1915.1 She was also reported to have died on 29 August 1919.3
     From 2 October 1855, her married name became Hood.1 After her marriage, Fanny Henrietta Maclean was styled as Baroness Hood of Avalon on 22 February 1892.

     Hon. Emily Isabel Hood was born in 1860 at Wootton House, Glastonbury, Somerset, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Admiral Arthur William Acland Hood, 1st and last Baron Hood of Avalon and Fanny Henrietta Maclean.1 She married Francis Alexander Mackinnon of Strathaird, 35th Chief of MacKinnon, son of William Alexander Mackinnon of Strathaird, 34th Chief of MacKinnon and Margaret Sophia Willes, on 19 April 1888.1 She died on 18 May 1934.1
     From 19 April 1888, her married name became Mackinnon.1

     Francis Alexander Mackinnon of Strathaird, 35th Chief of MacKinnon was born on 9 April 1848 at 36 Portman Square, London, EnglandG.2,3 He was the son of William Alexander Mackinnon of Strathaird, 34th Chief of MacKinnon and Margaret Sophia Willes.4 He married Hon. Emily Isabel Hood, daughter of Admiral Arthur William Acland Hood, 1st and last Baron Hood of Avalon and Fanny Henrietta Maclean, on 19 April 1888.1 He died on 27 February 1947 at age 98.3
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.3 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1871 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in 1877 in the East Kent Yeomanry.3 He was a magistrate.2 Between 1878 and 1879 he played one cricket test match for England against Australia.5 He lived in 1891 at 4 Marble Arch, St. Marylebone, London, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.3 He held the position of 35th Chief of the Clan MacKinnon from in 1903.3 He sold Acryse Park, Kent in 1911.3 He lived in 1911 at Hatchet Lane, Wiknfield, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2
