     Rt. Rev. John Wordsworth was born on 21 September 1843.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Christopher Wordsworth and Susanna Hatley Frere.1 He married, firstly, Susan Esther Coxe, daughter of Henry Octavius Coxe and Charlotte Esther Fowler, in 1870.1 He married, secondly, Mary Ann Frances Williams, daughter of Sir Robert Williams, 1st Bt. and Rosa Walker Simes, in 1896.1 He died in 1912.1
     He had four sons and two daughters.1 He held the office of Bishop of Salisbury in 1885.1
