     Jean Braithwaite Strain was born circa 1909.2 She was the daughter of Dr. William Loudon Strain.1 She married Most Rev. and Rt. Hon. Dr. Frederick Donald Coggan, Baron Coggan, son of Cornish Arthur Coggan and Fannie Sarah (?), in 1935.1 She died on 24 January 2005.2
     From 1935, her married name became Coggan.1 As a result of her marriage, Jean Braithwaite Strain was styled as Baroness Coggan on 28 January 1980.
