     Lt.-Col. Joe Neville Mottram was born in 1927.1 He is the son of Leonard Hay Mottram and Cicely Violet Leese.2 He married, firstly, June Patricia Mary Garfit, daughter of Lt.-Col. C. F. Garfit, in 1954.1 He and June Patricia Mary Garfit were divorced in 1977.1 He married, secondly, Moira Livingstone Finnie, daughter of William Finnie, in 1978.1
     Lt.-Col. Joe Neville Mottram gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Australian Regular Army.1
