Henry Nicholas Middleton was born on 27 July 1845.1 He was the son of Charles Atticus Monck and Laura Ridley.2 He married Sophia Elizabeth Meredith, daughter of Sir William Colles Meredith and Sophia Maiters Holmes, on 7 March 1872.1 He died on 6 December 1928 at age 83.1
Henry Nicholas Middleton was baptised with the name of Henry Nicholas Monck.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1 On 12 February 1876 his name was legally changed to Henry Nicholas Middleton.1 He held the office of Vice-Chairman of the Northumberland County Council.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Northumberland.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Roxburghshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.1

Sir William Colles Meredith was born on 23 May 1812 at 1 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He was the son of Reverend Thomas Meredith and Elizabeth Graves.2 He married Sophia Maiters Holmes, daughter of William Edward Holmes and Anne Johnston, on 20 May 1847 at Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.2
Sir William Colles Meredith was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.).2 He was invested as a Queen's Cousnel (Q.C.).2 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.).1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 21 June 1886.2 He lived at Quebec, Canada.1 He was Chief Justice.1
