     Euphemia Gaudin is the daughter of Jean Gaudin.1 She married Reverend William McDouall, son of John McDouall and Mary Isabel MacCulloch, on 15 February 1815.1

     Reverend William McDouall was born in 1775.1 He was the son of John McDouall and Mary Isabel MacCulloch.1 He married Euphemia Gaudin, daughter of Jean Gaudin, on 15 February 1815.1 He died on 15 December 1849 at Copt Hall, Bedfordshire, England.2
     He held the office of Prebendary of Peterborough.1

     William Crichton, 3rd Earl of Dumfries was the son of Charles Crichton, Lord Crichton and Sarah Dalrymple.1 He died on 28 February 1693/94, unmarried.1

     Penelope Crichton, Countess of Dumfries was born in 1682 at Sanquar, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Charles Crichton, Lord Crichton and Sarah Dalrymple.1 She married Colonel Hon. William Dalrymple of Glenmure, son of John Dalrymple, 1st Earl of Stair and Elizabeth Dundas, on 26 February 1697/98.1 She died on 6 March 1741/42.1
     She succeeded to the title of 4th Viscountess of Air [S., 1622] on 28 February 1693/94.1 She succeeded to the title of 4th Lady of Sanquhar [S., 1622] on 28 February 1693/94.1 She succeeded to the title of 12th Lady Crichton of Sanquhar [S., 1488] on 28 February 1693/94.3 She gained the title of 4th Lady Crichton of Sanquhar and Cumnock [S., 1633] on 28 February 1693/94.1 She succeeded to the title of 4th Countess of Dumfries [S., 1633] on 28 February 1693/94.1 She succeeded to the title of 4th Viscountess of Air [S., 1633] on 28 February 1693/94.1 Her married name became Dalrymple.

William Dalrymple of Glenmure was born at Sanquar, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 He was the son of John Dalrymple, 1st Earl of Stair and Elizabeth Dundas.1 He married Penelope Crichton, Countess of Dumfries, daughter of Charles Crichton, Lord Crichton and Sarah Dalrymple, on 26 February 1697/98.1 He died on 3 December 1744.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayrshire.1 He lived at Glenmure, Scotland.1

     John Dalrymple, 1st Earl of Stair was the son of James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount Stair and Margaret Ross. He married Elizabeth Dundas, daughter of Sir John Dundas. He died on 8 January 1707.
     He gained the title of 1st Earl of Stair. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
