     Hon. Jocelyn Cecil Vereker was born on 27 July 1913.1 He was the son of Field Marshal John Standish Surtees Prendergast Vereker, 6th Viscount Gort, V.C. and Corinna Katherine Vereker.1 He died on 29 May 1915 at age 1.1

Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort1

     Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort was born on 12 February 1888.1 He was the son of John Gage Prendergast Vereker, 5th Viscount Gort and Eleanor Surtees.1 He married Bessy Surtees, daughter of Aubone Alfred Surtees, on 11 June 1921.1 He died in 1975, without issue.1
     Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort usually went by his middle name of Robert.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1948 in the Royal Horse Artillery (Territorial Forces.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded three times.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Gort, co. Galway [I., 1816] on 31 March 1946.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Kiltarton of Gort, co. Galway [I., 1810] on 31 March 1946.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1948 in the 464 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery.1 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)1

Bessy Surtees1

     Bessy Surtees was the daughter of Aubone Alfred Surtees.1 She married Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort, son of John Gage Prendergast Vereker, 5th Viscount Gort and Eleanor Surtees, on 11 June 1921.1 She died on 14 April 1972.1
     From 11 June 1921, her married name became Vereker.1 After her marriage, Bessy Surtees was styled as Viscountess Gort on 31 March 1946.

     Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker was born on 21 June 1850.1 He was the son of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage.1 He married Ellen Amelia Wilshere, daughter of Reverend Henry Michael Mydleton Wilshere, on 25 March 1876.1 He died on 24 October 1900 at age 50.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was Naval Advisor to the Board of Trade.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographic Society (F.R.G.S.)1

     Ellen Amelia Wilshere was the daughter of Reverend Henry Michael Mydleton Wilshere.1 She married Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker, son of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage, on 25 March 1876.1 She died on 18 December 1943.1
     From 25 March 1876, her married name became Vereker.1

     Standish Henry Prendergast Vereker was born on 12 November 1878.1 He was the son of Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker and Ellen Amelia Wilshere.1 He married Eleanor Elizabeth Bott, daughter of Henry Bott, on 25 March 1908.1 He died on 27 January 1953 at age 74.1
     He held the office of Resident to Nigeria.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches and received a medal for distinguished conduct in the field.1 He was Vice-Consul to Cherbourg between 1901 and 1904.1 He fought in the First World War, attached to the British Forces in the Cameroons and Mounted Infantry.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (D.C.M.)1

     Eleanor Elizabeth Bott was the daughter of Henry Bott.2 She married Standish Henry Prendergast Vereker, son of Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker and Ellen Amelia Wilshere, on 25 March 1908.1 She died on 28 July 1957.1
     From 25 March 1908, her married name became Vereker.1
