Christopher Bethell was born on 10 August 1728.1 He was the son of Sir William Codrington, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bethell.2 He married Hon. Anne Sandys, daughter of Samuel Sandys, 1st Baron Sandys, on 21 July 1768.1 He died in September 1797 at age 69, without issue.1
