Sir John Coventry was born before 1660. He was the son of Hon. John Coventry and Elizabeth Coles.1 He died, unmarried.1
On 21 December 1670 he was attacked by some courtiers for criticising King Charles II in Parliament. The resulting Coventry Act banished the assailants if identified.1 He lived at Pitminster, Somerset, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Weymouth.1
