     Newdigate Poyntz was baptised on 17 August 1715.1 He was the son of Robert Poyntz and Sarah Taverner.2 He married Elizabeth Castleton, daughter of Nathaniel Castleton, on 20 September 1743.1 He died on 7 November 1772 at age 57.1
     Clerk of the House of Commons.1 In 1763 he purchased the manor of Hexton, Hertfordshire.1
