Charles Purdon Coote was born on 8 August 1847.1 He was the son of Charles Purdon Coote and Lydia Lucy Wingfield-Digby.2 He married Harriette Louisa Maxwell, daughter of Robert Perceval Maxwell, on 22 June 1871.1 He died on 20 September 1893 at age 46.1
