Giles Stephen Holland Fox-Strangways, 6th Earl of Ilchester was born on 31 May 1874.1 He was the son of Henry Edward Fox-Strangways, 5th Earl of Ilchester and Lady Mary Eleanor Anne Dawson.1 He married Lady Helen Mary Theresa Vane-Tempest-Stewart, daughter of Charles Stewart Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 6th Marquess of Londonderry and Lady Theresa Susey Helen Talbot, on 25 January 1902.1 He died on 29 October 1959 at age 85.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Lord Ilchester, co. Somerset, Baron of Woodford Strangways, co.
