     Charles Bennet, 1st Earl of Tankerville was born circa 1674.1 He was the son of John Bennet, 1st Baron Ossulston and Bridget Howe.1 He married Lady Mary Grey, daughter of Forde Grey, 1st Earl of Tankerville and Lady Mary Berkeley, on 3 July 1695.1 He died on 21 May 1722.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Ossulston, of Ossulston, co. Middlesex [E., 1682] on 11 February 1694/95.1 He was created 1st Earl of Tankerville [Great Britain] on 19 October 1714.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1716.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) in February 1720/21.1

Sir Charles Armand Powlett, son of Lord William Powlett and Louisa de Caumont, in June 1738.1 She died in September 1756.1
     From 4 May 1710, her married name became Dashwood. From June 1738, her married name became Powlett.
