     Sir Walter Knight Shirley, 11th Earl Ferrers was born on 5 June 1864.¹ He was the son of Reverend Walter Waddington Shirley and Philippa Frances Emilia Knight.^2,3 He married Mary Jane Moon, daughter of Robert Moon, on 9 July 1890.¹ He died on 2 February 1937 at age 72.¹
