     Major John Palmer Cochrane was born on 28 March 1852.1 He was the son of Colonel William Marshall Cochrane and Mary Hussey.2 He married Frances Gilbert, daughter of William Gilbert, on 19 June 1882.1 He died on 30 September 1921 at age 69.1
     Major John Palmer Cochrane gained the rank of Major in the service of the Cape Mounted Rifles.1

     Basil William Dundonald Cochrane was born on 17 May 1891.1 He was the son of Major John Palmer Cochrane and Frances Gilbert.2 He married Anne Robertson, daughter of William Robertson, on 22 July 1920.1 He died on 17 June 1953 at age 62.1
     Basil William Dundonald Cochrane gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Cape Mounted Rifles.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 13th Hussars.1 He was Superintendant of Kenya Police.1 He was decorated with the Colonial Police Medal.1 He was invested as a Serving Brother, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (S.B.St.J.).1
