F/O Basil Alexander Cochrane was born on 12 August 1929.1 He was the son of Commander Alexander Francis Cochrane and Osma Heather Cochrane.2 He died on 3 May 1952 at age 22 at Malaysia, missing and believed killed through a premature explosion of ammunition while leading an anti-bandit strike.1
