Maria Acton was the daughter of William Acton and Jane Parsons.1 She and Thomas Walker obtained a marriage license in June 1783.1 She died in 1837.1

Lt.-Col. William Acton was the son of Thomas Acton and Sidney Davis.1 He married Caroline Walker, daughter of Thomas Walker and Maria Acton, on 16 June 1818 in a they were first cousins marriage.2 He died on 10 April 1854.1
Lt.-Col. William Acton gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Wicklow Militia.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Wicklow.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Wicklow in 1820.2 He lived at West Aston, Rathdrum, County Wicklow, Ireland.2 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of County Wicklow.2
