     John Cochrane was baptised on 30 June 1662.1 He was the son of Sir John Cochrane and Margaret Strickland.1 A contract for the marriage of John Cochrane and Hannah de Werth was signed on 14 September 1687.1 He died circa 7 January 1729.1
     In 1685 he was imprisoned with his father for his part in the Argyll rising, but was afterwards pardoned.1 He lived at Waterside.1
